Turf is Croydon’s homegrown art space; a registered charity set up and run by local artists to support creatives and our local community. Please note the contact details for each role, to email them directly with your application.
Offer:
- We offer reimbursement of travel costs of up to £10 per day, plus £5 reimbursement of lunch costs for any full day volunteering at Turf.
- In exchange for your help, we hope your experience of volunteering with us will benefit your art practice, knowledge of Croydon / the Arts and all that we do at Turf! Please let us know when you apply, if there is a specific skill you would like to gain from your volunteer work with us.
Volunteer roles, hours and contacts:
Workshop support for adults
Support the facilitation of workshops for MOSS – our collective of learning disabled adult artists. Workshops are held at Turf Projects in Croydon on Fridays 1.30-4.30pm starting at the end of September. Contact skye@turf-projects.com
Tech and building support
Support our Facilities Lead with lifting, sorting, moving, carrying and simple build techniques in exhibition and studios at Turf Projects in Croydon. Hours and days negotiable. Contact rebecca@turf-projects.com
Workshop support for families and schools
Support the facilitation of workshops for families and schools. Workshops are held on an ad-hoc basis on Saturdays and during term-time at Turf Projects in Croydon. Contact skye@turf-projects.com
Workshop support for young people
Support the facilitation of workshops for Art Press – our young person’s collective. Workshops are based at Turf Projects in Croydon for a full day held once a month, starting from late September. Contact rosie@turf-projects.com
Person specification:
- Personal connections to & active knowledge of Croydon are preferable but not essential.
- An affinity with Turf’s aims and ethos. We strive to be welcoming, kind and accessible to the public and those we work with.
- Efficient, well-organised, and reliable.
- You’ll be kind, patient and willing to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Turf is an artist-led space, so we’d love to hear about your artistic practice if you have one and/or interest in the Arts.
