Ello! I’m a poet and community artist from Croydon 👋🏻 My work extends across genres of film, installation, performance and writing, aiming to meet people and places with poetry.
Before I joined Turf, I was commissioned on Desire Paths, Turf’s flagship project as part of This is Croydon, London Borough of Culture 2023. I made (Pub)lic House, a poetry-documentary on Croydon pub closures, in collaboration with the local community. I toured the film, screening in 10 pubs and bars across the CR0 postcode. To date, over 600 people engaged with the film through workshops, screenings and the making of it. To learn more about the project, explore the (Pub)lic House Manifesto page.
I’ve made installations, like Limpieza en Progreso, an audio-trail made with cleaners working at the Barbican. I’ve also been published with Flipped Eye, Bad Betty Press and was Poet-in-Residence at The Royal Standard Pub, Croydon in 2024. I’m also London’s most chaotic pub quiz host as Phoebe the Pub every Monday in Angel and first Wednesday of the month in Croydon.
