Mallika makes object & sound-led performances, playing with the sensory experience of liveness to create something both familiar & alien, a strange dream thing. Characteristically surreal, they evoke discomfort to the normative unconscious and crack open the binary of real and not-real. She are interested in consulting more-than-human perspectives and behaviour to interrogate non extractive systems of exchange with each other and the land.
She works often on puppet and costume commissions, in collaboration with other artists, community organisations and young people. She is one of the co-directors of interdisciplinary performance collective “Pure Imagination”.
