Community engagement strategy
Over 1200 people reached
16 creative workshops,
2 surveys
& family activity guide
97% of participants felt more informed about and involved in Croydon Town Centre’s future
We assessed and targeted underrepresented voices in local spatial planning, and then delivered targeted strategies for each, including global majority audiences, young people and children.
Together we developed a community vision for the town centre through clay, collage, map-making and surveys.

Community feedback insights
Over 700 survey responses
Accessible reports
A baseline for the local authority
97% of participants felt more likely to engage in spatial planning in the future
We produced reports and a data analysis of insights gained from community engagement, creating a data baseline for future engagement for Croydon Council.
Access review
Accessible, engaging and nonverbal ways to take part
Easy read documents ensuring accessible info for communities who contributed
Turf’s dedicated Access Lead reviewed the language and design of public engagement materials for each phase of the strategy.
