Family Fun Art Day – Making Music

Made on our Family Art Fun Day as part of Turf Projects’ exhibition Moments of Zen, High School Rice Cakes was collaboratively written, performed and created by:

Zenny // Alessandro // Cooper // Ella // Hatsune Miku // Jade Morgan // Isabella Pisano // Sophie Blagden // Esme // Alex // Rayment // Matty from Croydon School of Art // Giulia // Louis // Fuyu Hayami // Harold Stone // Lucy

Sat 6 Feb, 12-2pm // Free and open to all

Create a song and dress up as Zenny the imaginary pop star! Try out exciting ways to change and record the sound of your voice, write your own lyrics and design cover art for a song. After writing, performing and recording, the song we create together will be available to listen to online or at Turf Projects. This is also a great chance to visit the current ‘Moments of Zen’ exhibition to find inspiration for your song. This artist-led workshop is completely free to attend. Most suitable for ages 5+ but all ages are welcome to have a go.

Family activity guides are also free to pick up from the gallery throughout our exhibitions.

WORKSHOP CODE:

Turf aims to be a space where all are welcomed & respected. We ask all attendees to align with this spirit when booking and support us in creating a welcoming & collaborative atmosphere together. We ask that everyone is;

  • Kind and respectful in our language and behaviour towards others. Turf is a space which is anti racism, sexism, homophobia and ableism.
  • Considerate of others’ time; allowing others room to speak & engage.
  • Respectful of the space itself as belonging to many people, treating the space & objects with care.
  • Attend wherever possible: In 2023, around 30% of people booking free tickets didn’t turn up! Our free tickets are limited and in high demand. Every person who doesn’t turn up means someone else can’t attend, so please let us know if you can’t make it to free up a space. If you don’t attend twice or more without letting us know, you may be restricted from booking again.
