Family Art Fun Day – Make, Draw, Score!

We’ll be creating some arty football fun at Turf Projects, working together as a team to make collaborative artworks thinking about shared space, how we can move whilst making art and imagining our very own football team!

Free & open to all

We’ll be creating some arty football fun at Turf Projects, working together as a team to make collaborative artworks thinking about shared space, how we can move whilst making art and imagining our very own football team!

This workshop is for children and their families to explore together. It is inspired by our current exhibition ‘Common Ground’ by Turf Studio members and Fungus Press commission ‘Cultural Field’  by Rosa Johan-Uddoh.

This free workshop is most suitable for ages 5-11, but all are welcome to come and have a go!

HOW DO OUR TICKETS WORK?

For our workshops & events we offer the majority of tickets free and then offer donations-based tickets after that. Free tickets go fast! We’d encourage you to book a donations-based ticket if you’re able to, to leave as many free tickets as possible available for those who could most benefit from them. Donations tickets can be as little as £1.

THINGS TO NOTE:

Please turn up at the start time of the session and let us know if you can’t make it so a ticket can go to another family!

Family Art Fun Days have just started to be held indoors, we work with lots of vulnerable people and in order to keep everyone safe we ask that if you book for the workshop we would really recommend anyone over the age of 11 to wear a mask unless you are exempt throughout the workshop. We also recommend using a rapid flow test before coming to the event.

Believe it or not, 30% of people who book free events with us don’t turn up! Turf are a registered charity and all of our events & exhibitions are free with the aim to being open to many people as possible without the limitation of cost.

By booking, we hope you’ll make every effort to attend the event. However we understand plans can change; please let us know if so, so that someone else may be able to have the opportunity to attend.

The family days are very popular so if we notice you have booked more than once and have not attended without giving notice we will make a note of this.

WORKSHOP CODE:

Turf aims to be a space where all are welcomed & respected. We ask all attendees to align with this spirit when booking and support us in creating a welcoming & collaborative atmosphere together. We ask that everyone is;

  • Kind and respectful in our language and behaviour towards others. Turf is a space which is anti racism, sexism, homophobia and ableism.
  • Considerate of others’ time; allowing others room to speak & engage.
  • Respectful of the space itself as belonging to many people, treating the space & objects with care.
  • Attend wherever possible: In 2023, around 30% of people booking free tickets didn’t turn up! Our free tickets are limited and in high demand. Every person who doesn’t turn up means someone else can’t attend, so please let us know if you can’t make it to free up a space. If you don’t attend twice or more without letting us know, you may be restricted from booking again.

A mini Polly Pocket style toy open on a white tiled shelf. It is cast in jesmonite, with a pale pink exterior and an interior covered with green grass flocking. Either side of the open toy are jesmonite casts of mini football goals, the ground around them has white pitch markings. In the background is a print of a frosted window.
