Inspired by Meera Shakti Osborne’s work in Turf’s latest exhibition Tending. Led by Stacey McGonigal, this workshop is a chance for families to learn more about how animals make themselves feel safe and protected through creating cosy nests where they watch the world, feast, sleep and stay warm.
Through a table map (illustrated by Stacey), worksheets, video projections of nest building, nature soundscapes and a range of natural materials, beads and fabric remnants displayed on tables, participants will be invited to create their own cosy cocoons and even fill it up with drawings and objects to decorate the inside. During this workshop, we will explore what kind of nesting environment makes us feel safe, peaceful and happy.
