ARTISTS LUNCHTIME CRIT: Led by artist Doug Bowen

Sat 29th October 12-2pm // Free to attend // Led by artist Doug Bowen

Calling all artists, art students, graduates alike! Taking place every last Saturday of the month, our lunchtime crits give artists a chance to get feedback on their work from a practicing artist in a supportive and friendly environment.

Simply bring along your work, and we’ll take turns to discuss it and give feedback for each participant.

Participation isn’t mandatory – you’re welcome to simply come and view the works and take part in the discussions. If you’d like to participate in showing your artwork, it’s ideal to send imagery of or a link to the work you wish to show in the crit in advance so we can get it up on our projector! Email us at to submit along with any requirements for AV equipment and/or install instructions.

Doug Bowen (b. 1992) is an artist based in London. Recent exhibitions include OUTPOST, Norwich; Glasgow International 2016, Glasgow (2016); Cactus, Liverpool; Eastside Projects, Birmingham; Art Licks Weekend 2015, London; Two Queens, Leicester; Toast, Manchester; Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Leeds (all 2015). Having also completed residencies at The Hepworth Wakefield, Wakefield (2015).

His work shrugs off any particular aesthetic trend in order to investigate and challenge ideas around language, visual signifiers and perception. By using a variety of techniques, Bowen asks questions and explores the way a simple gesture can produce a profound outcome.
