CERAMICS STARTER

Croydon arts charity Turf Projects are thrilled to offer our CERAMICS STARTER, a package for the new or budding ceramicist!

Our ceramics facility is an open-access studio where you can experiment, build and finish work with clay. This package includes an induction to the Turf ceramics space and 5 open access half-day sessions in the ceramics studio, usual cost £110!

Our monthly Inductions to use the facilities take place on the first Saturday of each month. Completion of this induction will grant you open access to our ceramic facilities from Wednesday to Saturday, 11 am to 5 pm. A 3 hour pass allows you to work on your own projects alongside up to 3 other members, covering your use of the space plus 1kg of clay, decorating slips, storage and both firings of your work.

A BOUT TURF:

Founded in 2013 by Croydon locals, Turf is Croydon’s homegrown artist space and the first entirely artist-run contemporary art space in the borough. Based in Croydon’s Whitgift Shopping Centre, we put on free exhibitions & workshops, provide affordable artist studios, run a free creative project space for locals & host a number of other local creative organisations and collectives. • For access info about getting to Turf and the Turf space, click here. Our unit in the Whitgift Centre is 4 minutes walk (0.2 miles) from Wellesley Road Tram stop via the underpass, and 7 minutes walk (0.3 miles) from West Croydon Station and 8 minutes walk (0.4 miles) from East Croydon station.
• You must have completed an induction first before being able to use a day pass.
• There will be no technician on site to assist you, however a member of the Turf team will always be in the building.
• You must sign in with a member of staff at the main gallery entrance.
