It’s our official announcement for ‘Welcome to our Gallery’, a show in partnership with Croydon Music And Arts.
From the 14th – 24th July young artists from Croydon will take over the Turf Projects gallery space to showcase work made over Zoom during the last few months. With support from Turf the children explored themes of nature, emotion, and the future of their hometown, producing clay sculptures, self portraits, a collaborative installation, and much more.
Croydon Music and Arts (CMA) is a service within Croydon Council. They work to ensure children and young people in the borough have access to creative opportunities. Turf Projects works with CMA as part of their network of local partners that include Croydon’s schools, cultural organisations and services for children and young people.
Their mission is to amplify young people’s voices and enhance their lives and life chances through the arts. Central to their mission is recognition of the importance of culture and identity for engaging families, schools and communities.
Est 2013, Turf is Croydon’s homegrown art space; free exhibitions & workshops, studios & collectives run by creatives for creatives.
