In collaboration with Croydon Music and Arts, we’re seeking a Young Producer to work with us on our program of workshops with children and young people. You’ll be supporting creative workshops, planning and leading an outreach campaign for young artists in Croydon, and planning your own workshop to be delivered with the support of the Early Career Development Lead.
The Young Producers programme is funded for 16 to 25 year olds that live, work or are educated in Croydon. Please do not apply if you do not fit this criteria.
Pay & terms
- Contract: 20 days to be worked between January and March 2024.
- Pay: £100 per day, delivered over 2 days a week for 10 weeks.
- Hours: Thursdays, 12:30-5:30, with some additional work on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
- Location of work: At Turf Projects in Croydon

Person specification
This role is specifically for someone aged 16 to 25 who lives, works, or studies in Croydon. You do not need any prior experience in the arts or elsewhere for this role; we’re looking for someone enthusiastic, passionate, and interested in a career in the arts, and will provide training and support for you to deliver the role successfully.
Turf is run by a team of local artists and creatives; we’d like to hear about your own art making too.
Responsibilities (what you’ll do!)
- Undergo training in workshop planning, delivery, and evaluation; you will also receive basic Safeguarding and GDPR Training.
- Support 12 creative visual arts workshops delivered by the project lead, and plan and lead a workshop independently from start to finish at the end of the project
- Develop and deliver an outreach campaign, sharing expert knowledge of young people’s Croydon to expand the scope of the Young Peoples’ Programme.
- Assist in planning the next year of workshops, events, and exhibitions.
- Use Slack, Asana, email, Google Drive (Sheets and Docs) to complete administrative and planning tasks.
- Basic cash handling and recording – training will be provided.
- Adhere to Turf Projects’ policies.
