Meet art the way you’d meet a new friend: with curiosity, questions and joy!
In this Family Art Fun Day, explore the futuristic experiments and handmade ecosystems in Amy and Meitao’s Prefab Paradise exhibition. With our new Facilitator-in-Residence, Michael Crowe, join in playful drawing and creative writing, to explore these new worlds like detectives peering into a snow-globe of imagination. Shrink down, look around and shake ideas up!
As a family, you’ll ask questions like ‘What’s this art doing to me? Why and how?’ Together, you will find out why being creative is so important and how to look at art in new, exciting ways.
As a bonus, every attendee will receive a super special silver diary from the future. What will you write in it? Can you predict tomorrow? Can you predict the deep future??
Please make sure you arrive at least 5 minutes before the session begins!
Michael Crowe is a writer, artist and teacher based in St Albans. His work has shown up at LACMA, in St Gallen, and at Le Plateau in Paris, and he’s talked about it at the New Museum NY and the BFI. He runs Spaghetti Club [@spaghetti_clurb], a creative writing and thinking project for children, named one of Frieze Magazine’s best exhibitions in the UK and Ireland. Michael has also taught a dance workshop in Korea, published an Oulipo-themed book on GTA Online, and designed fictional flowers for LEGO.
