Crochet your own Sculpture: Crochet Workshop – Led by Kimberley Cookey-Gam

Learn to crochet your own sculpture with CrochetCookey!

Participants will practice the freeform crochet technique in the first hour then they will combine this skill by experimenting with twigs, sticks and other elements found in nature, to create their own sculptural pieces in the second hour.

The intention of the workshop isn’t solely to make something but to learn, first and foremost. To be mindful of the way it feels to try something new and to take home a new or honed skill.

We’re encouraging intergenerational collaboration within all of our workshops as part of our current project, ‘Squidgy World’. All ages are welcome and we’d especially love for you to spread the word to people aged 65+! You only need to book for one if you would like to bring more than one caregiver.

CrochetCookey creates and nurtures tender connections between garments, art & people – a creative platform that exists to address the balance between independent creativity and a desire for connection, through the process of care and collaboration. Drawing various forms of creativity together to initiate softness within the hard parts of the art world. Crochet pieces handmade by Kimberley Cookey-Gam, spans clothing & accessories to sculpture to functional objects. Kimberley is a British-Nigerian artist based in London. Her practice is an accumulation of healing through craft and its relation to nature and organic forms. She uses crochet to foster moments of connection through a shared act.
