Rosie Mills Eckmire is a fine artist based in Croydon, London. Largely self taught, she studied briefly at Croydon College, completing her fine art foundation course with a distinction diploma. She now continues her practice independently, embarking on a deeper exploration of the topics studied on the course.
Her practice encompasses a wide variety of media, combining painting with digital content and photography. A lot of her work deals with the sensitive subject of mental health and what it’s like to live with an invisible illness. She seeks to educate and inform the public about various stigmas the community deals with daily and spark a discussion that takes these subjects beyond the common conversation about mental health. Working closely with the 888 collective , she also promotes other artists with mental health issues to provide a platform for their work and artistic development.
