LOFT – free creative community project and events space in Croydon
What is LOFT?
LOFT is a creative community project space within Croydon Arts Store, which is FREE to use by Croydon-based individuals, participants and organisations for projects, events and exhibitions.
Jointly managed by Croydon Arts Store partners (Turf, Croydon Council, Art Halo + Kingston University), the aim of LOFT is to give individuals and organisations in Croydon the chance to test out ideas and give projects shape where they might not otherwise have the opportunity, when space is increasingly challenging to find at reasonable cost.
Where is LOFT?
LOFT is situated on the top floor of the four-floor Croydon Arts Store within Croydon’s Whitgift Centre, 46-47 + 1046-1047 Trinity Court, Whitgift Centre, Croydon CR0 1UQ.

How do I propose an idea?
If you have an idea for a project, exhibition or event and want to use the LOFT space, email us a proposal at email@example.com.
Due to the high demand for the space, we can’t guarantee that we can accommodate every request, but we’ll try our best!
We can accommodate viewings of the space Wed-Sun 11-5pm.
What are the requirements?
∙ You, the artist/s or participants involved, or your organisation should be based in the London Borough of Croydon.
∙ Your project (including time for set up and take down) has a duration of two weeks or less.
∙ After using the space, you’re responsible for returning it to the condition in which is was found.
∙ We’ll be on hand for advice, but all the associated setup, marketing and overseeing of your project is up to you. That also means that if you need someone to keep an eye on the space you’ll need to have someone available to invigilate during CAS opening hours (Wed-Sun 11-5pm).
∙ Opening times outside of these hours may be possible, but may have some costs attached (as we have to pay for someone to open up, and one of the centre’s security guards for overtime!)
The Croydon Arts Store project and LOFT have been made possible with support by Croydon Council.
